Utama International Schools & Sekolah Sri Utama


Sekolah Sri Utama (SSU) was established in Kuala Lumpur on 1st December 1993, offering   the Malaysian curriculum as in the National Education policy with forty (40) students and ten (10) teachers. In the same month of December, Sekolah Sri Utama Johor Bahru opened its doors to public with only 6 students and was the first private school to operate in Johor Bahru.

The opening of the Utama International School on 1st September 1994 followed, offering British School curriculum for the Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary classes. Sri Utama Schools were among the first international schools to be established in Kuala Lumpur.

In 2003, the Utama International School Johor Bahru was established. The influx of local Malaysian students joining International gained momentum in 2006, when the Malaysian Government opened the quota allowing local students to join the International schools.

In 2008, the third Sri Utama School was established in Kuala Terengganu. Here Sri Utama set up its first Prep School catering for children from 2 year to 4 years old.
