What
The Intensive English Progamme (IEP) has been designed to serve two main markets:
- Students who wish to enroll at Sri Utama, but lack the necessary English skills to pass the Placement Test and participate in the mainstream curriculum
- Students who are currently in the school, and need extra assistance in learning English to keep up with the rest of their class. This includes students who are already enrolled in the After School ESL Programme, and who may need additional assistance through enrolling in the IEP Programme run over the holiday period
The programme aims to bring the students up to an acceptable standard of English, so that they can participate in the Standard English curriculum.
Why
• To increase the English language skills of existing Sri Utama students who are struggling in class • To bring new students up to an acceptable standard of English before entering the mainstream curriculum
Objectives

- Improve students understanding of class content that is delivered in English
- Improve academic results
- Bringing ESL students up to an acceptable standard of English in all competencies

Maximum Class Size
• 15 Students
When
The IEP programme will occur over 3 weeks, and will consist of 20 teaching hours per week. *subject to change
